Free, Open Access Legal Reference Resources from New York State
The New York State Unified Court System
operates and maintains a variety of libraries. The primary mission of
these law libraries is to contribute freely available,
professional-quality library services to the process of providing just
and timely resolution of all matters before the courts. In order to
fulfill this mission, timely, adequate, accessible and effective
resources are provided in an efficient, cost-effective manner. Library
staff manages, acquires, evaluates, stores, distributes, and clarifies
information deemed appropriate to this mission through publication of
resources including Legal Research tools, Law Libraries, Public Access
Libraries and LION, the court system’s automated, on-line library
catalog.
